ARTIST BIO

Carol Phillips grew up nestled near a rich riverside forest in
picturesque Oregon. Although she has a love for portraiture and nature;
her work is primarily figurative and fantasy oriented. She works in many
mediums including but not limited to : Acrylics, Pastel, Colored Pencil,
Watercolor and the ancient art of Woodblock print making. As a child
wrapped in nature she indulged her self in fairy tales that opened the
door to the fantasy world.

“My art is personal” Carol says “In everything I create there is a piece
of my self , this world , and the many worlds within this world. I want
my work to evoke emotion in my viewers; I want them to to look, to
question, to see, to know, and to hope. The beauty of the alternative
realm of fantasy continues to fascinate me. I wish to open this subtle
hidden reality to others. That is my gift and my vision; so that they
may see with the artists eye. I will continue to depict this mysterious
beauty in my work.”

Carol Phillips is a 24 year old artist. Primarily self taught, although
she has studied for many years under the instruction of a local Oregon
artist and taken art courses at Oregon colleges.
